At the end of every year, all the members of the IITA research community convene at the Institute’s headquarters at Ibadan in what has been termed “The R4D Week”, to review what has been done, present plans for the coming year and build networks among colleagues to increase institutional collaboration.
In preparation for the 2013 IITA R4D Week, which begins from Monday, 25th – 29th November, 2013, members of SARD-SC Project working in different hubs of IITA, will arrive the Ibadan Campus, on Saturday,23 for the week long programme.
On Sunday, November 24, there will be a joint meeting of the SARD-SC project management team members with the cassava and maize value chain teams to present an update on project management and implementation This shall be an opportunity for project team members to present and discuss any issues related to project implementation, especially in the areas of procurement, budgets and monitoring and evaluation of project outputs.
Also as part of the activities lined up for the R4D week, the SARD-SC project members will display and present posters on some of their findings working with cassava and maize. Some of the other activities lined up for the week, are delivering of papers by various scientists on different topics spanning Biotechnology, Agricbusiness, Genetic studies and breeding, Gender in Agricultural R4D among others. The R4D week coincides with the Board of Trustees meeting during which IITA Management shall also brief the staff on on-going activities at the Institute and the challenges for the coming year.
