SARD-SC Tanzanian team hosts farmers’ field day in Kigoma
The SARD-SC Tanzanian team will host the farmers field day on Friday 27th February, 2015 in Kigoma,Kakonko District, Tanzania. Between 100 and 120 participants from different areas in Kigoma will attend the event. The expected participants include all stakeholders along the cassava value chain (traders, NGOs, Government officials, Researchers, farmers, Marketers, Processors and other stakeholders involved in the dissemination of cassava information.

Several trainings provided by the SARD-SC project for different actors in the cassava value chain in the South Kivu Province of DR Congo, has led to the establishment of a network of cassava agroprocessors named RATSK (Reseau d’Agro Transformateurs du Sud-Kivu). This network is made of individuals belonging to different local and national organizations who have actively participated in the trainings organized by SARD-SC on the new technology developed to produce and transform the cassava crop into many marketable products. Read More»Tanzania team trains farmers on cassava post harvest technologies and products development
The SARD-SC Tanzania team will conduct a training on Cassava Post Harvest Handling Technologies and Products Development for small holder farmers from the 23rd to 26th February 2015 at the Kimzimbani Research Institute, Zanzibar, Tanzania. The training is designed to empower processors and small holder farmers on the knowledge of theories of cassava post harvest technologies and proper harvesting, grading and packaging procedures, among others. Forty –five participants are expected at the training.
